An Introduction to Drawing

Dates: Level 1 - 4 Saturdays (May 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th);  Level 2 - 4 Saturdays (June 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th)

Location: Olyphant Arts Annex

Ages: 17 and up (4 students min., 12 max)

Cost:  Level 1 $60; Level 2 $60 

Level 1 Supplies:  Newsprint pad 18"x24", sketchbook 9"x12", graphite pencils (2H, HB, 4B), blending stump, kneading eraser, and Tuff Stuff or Mono eraser.

Level 2 Supplies:  All supplies from level 1 in addition to charcoal pencils, (4B, 6B) and black pigma micron pens (02, 05, 08).

Drawing skills are the foundation for all forms of visual expression.  This course will familiarize you with common drawing tools and will cover basic sighting methods, formal elements of art, principles of design, and various techniques.  An emphasis will be placed on realism and accurate representation of values proportion, placement, etc. of objects within a picture plane.
