Clay is an amazing material.  From a lump, we can create almost anything.  This class is for those who would like to learn (or learn more) about the material and bring their ideas into the world.  We will focus on sculpture and abstraction, moving from less to more abstract over 3 main projects.

Basic hand building techniques (pinch, hard slab construction, coil building, building solid and hollowing) will be used and basics mid-range glazing and electric firing will be covered.  Advanced students will be supported by the instructor in undertaking building and surface treatment exploration beyond the basic. Students may also register for open studio hours (Wednesdays from 6-8 pm); registration for this option can be found in our class listings. Open studio hours provide a student-centered learning environment
