With a straight edge and a compass draw the shapes of the universe. In this class we will focus on the seven pointed star, also called the City of Heaven. We will go through the steps together, draw it a few times and then color our creations with colored pencils. If you have a sturdy ruler,compass or colored pencils please bring them.

Simple Book Making

Cost: $35 

This hands-on class will focus on combining simple book structures to make small art books/journals. Easy to learn bookmaking such as the Japanese stab binding stitch, ribbon & chopstick book and other simple forms will lead students to understand the formal qualities of the book. Book covers will be created using mixed media/collage approach.

Let’s Make Nests!

Create small bird nests from wire and recycled clothes.  A simple and fun project and a cute gift. Feel free to bring any thin materials you would like to add to your nest. We will decorate your nest with small bits and bobs just like a bird.

This creative writing class will develop your vibrant writer's voice by letting the words flow, stream of consciousness style. Two twenty-minute writing exercises with nonjudgmental sharing encourages writing from your heart. Pen or pencil and a spiral notebook are all you need to begin this creative journey!

Block Printing: Linoleum Cut

$25 per class

Learn techniques for the relief printmaking process using the flexibility and ease of linoleum. A relief is achieved by carving into the surface using special tools to leave raised images. These images are then inked and printed without a press to create a dynamic and textured print that can have many layers and colors. Students have the option of creating a multi-block image or themed cards to exchange with students to complete an edition. Open to both teens and adults
